I have an AMP10 Tier 3 with the ADX upgrade and it is an incredible machine. When working with one of the salesmen, Mike, I was informed that my machine would have to be built to order before shipping. Now in most cases, I've found that "built to order" means a lead time of several weeks at least. In this case, I was told that due to the unit needing to be built to order, it likely wouldn't ship until "tomorrow afternoon" - and that's exactly when it shipped. Incredible! After receiving the shipment and unpacking it, I was impressed with both the build quality of the converter and with the crating/packaging of it! Our company recently moved into a building that did not have 3 phase power. We contacted our local utility for a quote to upgrade our service to 3 phase. Due to current supply chain issues, we discovered the meter box required for the upgrade had an anticipated delivery of 50 to 60 weeks! We decided to purchase a rotary phase converter to bridge the gap until our upgrade could be completed. After extensive research, we chose American Rotary. We’re extremely pleased with our decision to purchase an AD60-PM digital phase converter. We’ve been running 5 pieces of equipment with it including a lathe, surface grinder and three 5-axis mills. We’re able to run multiple items simultaneously, including 400 volt European machines with transformers. We’re seriously considering continuing with our current process and avoiding a very costly 3 phase upgrade. We may just run the entire shop using phase converters. Our unit is very quiet. I had a need for 3-phase power for a PLC/CNC encapsulator. This machine is very sensitive to voltage and requires "clean" power. I tried another company's rotary phase converter and it damaged the rectifiers. I rebuilt the rectifiers and went with American Rotary Phase Converters AMP-20. Super simple set-up. 1) take it out of the crate. 2) plug it in and read the directions. 3) turn it on and go to work. The is an awesome piece of equipment and it is quiet. I purchased the AD30 from American Rotary about 2 months ago and so far have been extremely pleased. It is extremely quiet, very well built, and best of all, it just runs and works. As a business, I need equipment that I can rely on and trust and I am very happy that I trusted American Rotary. They had it to me within a week of ordering! Had an electrician come out and wire it in, 100 amp single phase breaker, then 2 guage wire going to the phase converter, the phase converter then feeds a 3 phase sub panel where I have my Haas Super Mini Mill wired into. Voltage is well balanced to within 5% which is what I need to run my CNC Mill. The Mill powers up and runs without any hiccups at all, I can’t even tell it’s being powered off a phase converter. No delay or lag when the spindle starts/stops. Overall, this phase converter is probably my best piece of equipment that I have as far as not having any hiccups. Extremely pleased and glad I didn’t waste my time with the other brands. Thank you!

I was in a situation of do I spend $45,000 for 3 phase power from the power company or do I buy the AD30. Well when looking at the numbers it was an obvious choice. I bought the AD30 and could not be happier! I followed the directions which were spelled out very clearly. I used #3 copper for all my power lines including the grounds. I used a 100amp breaker for my single phase feed. It’s important in my opinion to monitor the 3phases of power coming out of the RPC going to my 3 phase panel. To do that I purchased the phase monitor contacter. I wanted the ease of pulling the wire easy so I used 1-1/4” metal clad flex tight. The AD30 powers my Fadal VMC15 XT with no problems what so ever. The unit is quiet and works flawlessly. Go with a USA American Rotary if you need 3phase power.

We had a power surge courtesy Evergy Power that completely destroyed our 60 Hp American 3 Phase converter on Thursday at 4 PM CST I called the west Coast service line after 4:30 about a replacement and they refered me to the WI office for service with cell phone for a customer service person. I called and we determined exactly what was needed to bring us back online and additional isolators to protect us in the future from similar problems. They shipped everything on Friday second day to us and we were up and running by 4PM the following Monday. We have several convertors in our plants but all future replacements will only be American Rotary. Fantastic service could not ask for more or better service from a company. The unit replaced was 15 years old and they had the replacement parts on the self. I wouldn't buy any other brand and my electrician says the same.

As it was snowing this Sunday, for the first time in four years here in Georgia, I used the opportunity to install my new American Rotary AR 10 Phase converter. As advertised, it was professionally packaged and everything needed to install the Idler, converter panel and 3 phase load center was included. The directions were simple, clear and in several locations so it was easy to double check myself as I worked. When I was researching which converter to purchase, I spoke with two other companies about their product. In both cases, there wasn’t much information as to what I would need in my particular situation. I was offered a price for the converter only without much help as to choosing the correct one. When I spoke to Ally at American Rotary, she asked lots of questions concerning not only my equipment but of my shop as well. And when she sent the quote it included everything I would need to do a complete install. From speaking with Ally and from reading the information sent with the phase converter, I knew I needed to change my breaker and wiring that was running the VFD’s I used to power my 3 phase equipment. Once this was done the install went easily. I followed the instructions fully and the unit came up on the first try. I have a hobby/repair shop at my home. I have been running several pieces of 3 phase equipment and recently added a larger lathe. This is when I started having more problems with how I was powering this equipment. You only realize about two thirds the actual horsepower of the motor you are running. This was causing problems with my vertical mill and the larger lathe. Now that I have the AR 10, not only is my equipment running stronger, I can run two machines simultaneously. I am so pleased with my AR 10 and with the service I received at American Rotary. I bought 2 phase converters to power up my waterjet, I love the units, I love the customer service, the units are over 5 years old and still running like day one. Please do yourself and dont try to cut corners like I did, I initially purchased from Phnix Phase converters and got ripped off, units did not start up on their own and kept causing my waterjet pump to fault out, to make matters worse that company whom I bought the phase converter kept blaming the electric company. It was not the electric company it was the phase converter. I decided to call American and they fixed me up, no more problems. Needed additional 3 phase power. I already had an ADX-20 phase converter but it wasn't big enough to handle the additional load. I installed another ADX-20 rotary phase converter and it starts the new air compressor no problem. I hooked them in parallel and put phase monitors on the units. I also installed surge suppressors on each phase monitor. Worked with Jacob at American Rotary and he was great at answering my questions and didn't get annoyed with my layman's understanding of electricity. good experience. I wished I could have posted a video of the installation on YouTube but I not that fluent to get something of quality posted.

After a lot of research I decided on American Rotary and specifically the ADX20 to have some room to run everything in my hobby shop. An AR rep answered all my questions and the order process was smooth and pain free. The freight company cosmetically damaged the panel. I called AR while the delivery driver was there, and they assured me they would help take care of the problem. I accepted the order as damaged and AR had me taken care of the following week. I am KC Cromwell of Castleton, Virginia. In 2007 I returned from Iraq and opened my own Woos Working Business under my own name. After renting a few buildings, I purchased a home with a large horse stable. I converted the stables into my shop but did not have 3 phase poser. American Rotary, with he help of Mr. Feavel, set me up with a unit that would meet my needs. I have a lot of large equipment, so it took some time to figure out what I needed. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with American Rotary! I was hesitant to spend the extra money over the other phase converters that I was looking at, but often times you pay for what you get. This is most definitely the case with them. Their idler motors are so incredibly quiet that you can't even hear them run while your machine(my mill or lathe) is running. The installation is very straightforward. I purchased the 3 phase load center with the ADX10 to be able to use multiple machines off the same converter, which is definitely the way to go. Furthermore, the customer support is second to none(the best I have had in a long time). I wasn't exactly sure the breakers that I needed and questioned the way to wire the load center, but their quick email and call responses quickly answered my questions. I received an email shortly after I received the parts asking if I had any questions about installation, needed any help, etc. I AM A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER and will recommend them whenever possible! Hi, I just finished installation of my new converter today (Rotary Phase Converter AR10-10HP 1 to 3 Three PH). I'm writing just to let you know how happy I am with its operation! It's super quiet, and my machine runs beautifully! I bought a used woodworking stroke sander a few months ago, and like many people, tried a cheaper static phase converter. I can't tell you how much time I wasted (and money too) trying to make things work. Those static converters, both a manufactured one AND a custom one made from a motor shop in-town--- both units made my sander work, but it sounded like a freight train, and I knew I was tearing my 3-phase motor apart!! Then I found your rotary converter---and WOW---- that's what my sander is supposed to sound like! Full power, fast start-up---- I'm very pleased with your converter--- it did exactly what you promised. Thanks again! Now, I'm off and running with my backlog of wood projects. Unexpected plus from this purchase is that now I'm fully ready for another 3-phase machine for my shop. Of course I would never use both machines at the same time, but the power is now there. Perfect!!

I recently purchase a wire remote switch from American Rotary and was having some difficulty getting in to work correctly. He also gave me some pointers of different things that could be affecting the switch. So far so good. I had a unit that had been pieced together, was a pain to start, and noisy when it was running. I replaced it with the 5HP unit and could not be happier. I mounted the control box, wired it all in, and turned it on. I actually had to turn a fan off to hear the unit running because it was so quiet. I have only used it for about 45 minutes total run time but the ease of starting and quietness of operation are very much appreciated.

Got the American Rotary AR7-UL 7.5 HP phase converter installed and it’s working like a charm. It was so easy to install and to wire. I have another American Rotary 3 HP converter that I purchased over 5 years ago and the improvements you have made to the new units have really simplified the installation and wiring of the units. I have used the 3 HP unit without the first problem and fully expect the new one to perform just as well. These are top notch units and I would recommend them to anyone. They both are being used on metalworking and woodworking machines and are running flawlessly. I have attached a couple of pictures to show how I installed the unit. As you can see in the pic we wall mounted the control box and we put the generator on the other side of the wall in an insulated compressor room. The only problem we had was not being able to hear the generator run which caused us to leave it running overnight a time or two. So I wired in a remote red light and mounted on wall above the control panel (you can see it “on” in the pic) so when we closed the shop we would see the red light on and remember to turn the unit off. I want to thank you and the staff for being so pleasant to deal with and also the phone calls to follow up before and after the purchase to see if everything was working as it should. Not too many companies have that kind of service anymore. Rest assured if in the future I need more equipment it will be American Rotary.

Could not have been any more straightforward - I am not an electrician by any means, but was able to complete all of the wiring with no issues, and just had a licensed electrician in to validate my work and make the connection my home service panel. The motor is exceptionally quiet, the overall product quality is top notch, and the customer service received in talking through my needs was impeccable. A couple of techs spent quite a bit of time talking me through the details, giving guidance on wire gauges, and tips on initial set up. Excellent service.

We just installed the unit on 5-1-14. The rotary phase converter works great, very quiet, very straight forward hook up. We are powering a crane with (3) different motors. I installed another manufacturers rotary phase converter on a different project a week before ( the customer purchased his own, thought he was getting a bargain) It took me about an hour more to hook up his than it did yours, the noise level when running is louder, finished product not as clean looking. This was for an irrigation pivot. The rotary phase converter I purchased from you was easy to wire, noise level when running is minimal, the overall finished project looks very good. You do have an amazing item. We used this 5 hp unit to power up a 1.5 hp cooler and a 1 hp ice maker. The system works perfectly. We mounted it on the side interior wall, adjacent to the electric panel. We hung it with 2 3/8" bolts threw the wall into to upper motor mounts, with the 2 lower mounts in place and resting against the wall. There;s no vibration and minimal noise, and even runs smoother when loaded up. The control panel mounted directly to the wall adjacent to the motor, allowing for short runs of conduit and wiring. I will take some pictures and show you just what the system is running. The customer is very happy and this saved him $20,000.00 cost if he ran conventional 3 phase, into his building. We showed the customer the operation and the importance of flipping the breaker and the start button at the same time to eliminate single phasing. The customer keeps his system running continually. I now know where to buy this fine system, the next time needed.

After 8 years of perfect performance from my American Rotary 20 hp converter I burned out the control unit and had to replace it. The fault wasn't the design...I was inadvertently abusing the start caps by "pulsing" my mixer. The box held on for about 4 months before letting go. I called American Rotary for advice and was surprised to get a person on the phone after hours. Despite being stuck at home with an illness, Chris Feavel helped me figure out the most expeditious way to deal with my problem which turned out to be a complete replacement of the control unit. Repair was an option but I didn't have time to wait. The new unit arrived on schedule and was very easy to install. The directions were clear, and it even came with a video. I got stuck at one point due to my lack of skills, but their tech support was superb and I had it running in short order. These folks really stand behind their product and I would enthusiastically buy from American Rotary again.

My 3HP Phase Converter was wired in yesterday to my 1-1/2HP Bridgeport J head milling machine. Runs fantastic! I had a friend that is a qualified electrician complete the task. Your included directions were very easy for him to understand and follow. Everything from wiring a new breaker box with the appropriate fuse breakers to powering up the Bridgeport took just under 3 hours. He took a few measurements with his volt meter and stated the mill was running at 98% of peak output efficiency. I'm very pleased needless to say

We are using the AmericanRotary phase converter to power our 230 volt 3 phase truck tire changers. This allows us to stock 3 phase units and if single phase power is required we simply add the American rotary converter to the package. This system not only works flawlessly but is very simple to install and does not take away from our machine in a cosmetic sense.
