About Three-Phase Power.

Three Phase Transformer

When your equipment voltage does not match your power supply, a transformer bridges the gap.

American Rotary transformers let you step voltage up or down so your machines run exactly as designed.

From 208V to 600V, we help you get the right power without guesswork.

Transformer Sizing Chart (Find Your KVA)

Use this chart to estimate the transformer size (KVA) you need.

Start with your voltage, then match your amperage to select the correct transformer.

How to use this chart

  1. Identify your voltage
  2. Find your amps under that voltage column
  3. Select the closest KVA rating above your requirement

Note: It is recommended to size a transformer 20% larger to account for motor starting loads.

Our 3 Phase Auto Transformers

Auto-transformers convert voltage for fixed applications or setups with selectable taps. Used in CNC machines, industrial equipment, HVAC systems, pumps and compressors, and manufacturing equipment, including 240V to 208V voltage conversion and multi-voltage setups.

Our 3 Phase Isolation Transformers

Isolation transformers use separate windings to provide electrical isolation and convert voltage. Used in CNC machines, industrial equipment, and manufacturing systems requiring voltage conversion, noise reduction, or a neutral connection. Available in Delta to Wye, Delta to Delta, and Wye to Wye configurations.

FAQs

Everything You Need to Know About Transformers
Do I need a transformer or a phase converter?
A transformer changes voltage. A phase converter creates three-phase power. Many applications require both.

Use your voltage and amperage to estimate the required KVA using the sizing chart above.

Auto transformers adjust voltage with a smaller footprint. Isolation transformers provide electrical separation for added protection.

Transformers can be connected in Delta or Wye configurations depending on your equipment and power system.

  • Delta uses three conductors and is common in industrial applications
  • Wye includes a neutral connection and allows for multiple voltage options

In most cases, you should match the configuration specified on your equipment nameplate.

If you’re unsure, our team can help you determine the correct setup.

Yes, as long as voltage and load requirements match. If unsure, contact our team.

Yes, installation should be completed by a qualified electrician.
