About Three-Phase Power.

ADX - Extreme Duty Smart Series

The ADX Smart Series rotary phase converters are designed for extreme-duty applications that require high starting torque and stable power delivery.

Built for heavy industrial equipment with high inertia loads, these converters provide the power and control needed to start and operate compressors, pumps, blowers, lathes, and demanding CNC machinery.

When to Choose the ADX Smart Series

The ADX Smart Series rotary phase converters are designed for demanding industrial equipment that requires high starting torque and stable power during heavy load conditions.

Using advanced control technology and a heavy-duty phase conversion design, the ADX Series provides the power needed to start and operate machines with large motors and high inertia loads.

These converters deliver reliable startup performance and balanced three-phase power for machines that place significant stress on electrical systems during startup.

For lighter general-purpose equipment, the AR Pro Series may be sufficient, while voltage-sensitive equipment may benefit from the AD Digital Series.

FAQs

Everything you need to know about getting the right power for your equipment.

What is an ADX – Smart rotary phase converter?
An ADX – Smart rotary phase converter converts single-phase power into balanced three-phase power for demanding industrial equipment. It is specifically designed for high inertia and hard-starting loads that require strong starting torque and stable voltage.
ADX – Smart converters are designed for high inertia equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, dust collectors, fans, high RPM CNC machines, and other industrial machinery that requires strong starting torque.
ADX rotary phase converters are typically sized based on the horsepower of the largest motor you plan to run. Many applications follow a 2:1 sizing guideline to ensure sufficient starting torque for high inertia loads.
The AR Series is designed for general-purpose loads. The AD Series adds digital voltage balancing for voltage-sensitive equipment. The ADX Series provides higher starting torque for extreme-duty applications, while the AUL Series offers UL-certified construction for installations requiring compliance.
Yes. ADX converters can operate multiple machines as long as the total running load remains within the converter’s rated capacity.
ADX rotary phase converters generate a balanced third leg of power using an idler generator combined with digital current control, allowing equipment to operate similarly to utility three-phase power.
No. ADX phase converters allow heavy industrial equipment to operate using single-phase power where three-phase utility service is not available.
ADX converters are designed for straightforward installation with accessible wiring connections and floor-mounted configurations. Larger units may include additional contactor panels to support higher horsepower installations.
