What is an ADX – Smart rotary phase converter?
An ADX – Smart rotary phase converter converts single-phase power into balanced three-phase power for demanding industrial equipment. It is specifically designed for high inertia and hard-starting loads that require strong starting torque and stable voltage.
ADX – Smart converters are designed for high inertia equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, dust collectors, fans, high RPM CNC machines, and other industrial machinery that requires strong starting torque.
ADX rotary phase converters are typically sized based on the horsepower of the largest motor you plan to run. Many applications follow a 2:1 sizing guideline to ensure sufficient starting torque for high inertia loads.
The AR Series is designed for general-purpose loads. The AD Series adds digital voltage balancing for voltage-sensitive equipment. The ADX Series provides higher starting torque for extreme-duty applications, while the AUL Series offers UL-certified construction for installations requiring compliance.
